About Us

Fáilte! Welcome to the Independent Holiday Hostels of Ireland website!

We believe in extending a warm authentic Irish welcome to everyone visits our beautiful emerald isle, and we do it at a price that everyone can afford without ever compromising on comfort or service.

Once you stay at one of our member hostels, we know you will fall in love with the real Ireland just like thousands of visitors before you.

    Who are we?

We’re a friendly co-operative society boasting with over 55 members across the whole of Ireland, all of which have been inspected and approved by Failte Ireland, the National Tourist board.

    Where are we?

Our hostels are scattered across the most beautiful locations in Ireland, from high up in the mountains, to the urban centres, to the tips of peninsulas and close to the wild shores of the Atlantic ocean and Irish sea. Whichever of Ireland’s most raw, traditional, historic or utterly beautiful locations you hope to visit, you will find the perfect place to stay with us.

    What’s a holiday hostel?

Hostels are sociable places to meet and share with fellow travellers. They have a wide range of facilities for their guests such as self-catering kitchens, common rooms, internet/WiFi and games. Some hostels even have cinemas and saunas! If you’ve never stayed in a hostel, you should come and stay with us!

Our holiday hostels vary in shape and size, and usually reflect the characteristics of their owners or location (including a good dose of Irish warmth and character!) We offer a range of rooms, dorms, ensuite rooms, wheelchair accessible rooms & even camping and caravan facilities. All of our hostels fully comply with the stringent health and safety regulations of the Irish Tourist Board.

All our member hostels are independently owned and operated so you don’t need to be a member of any organisation to stay at one of our hostels.
