The hostel itself is run almost entirely on renewable energies and we are confident that we are the most eco-friendly accommodation in Ireland. A wind turbine supplies our electricity needs and along with solar panels, heats water for showers and washing. We also recycle most of the rubbish produced by our guests and have puraflow septic treatment plants for waste water and septic.
Clare’s Rock is within walking distance of all the major attractions including Poulnabrone Dolmen, Caherconnell and Cathair Chomain stone forts, the National Park at Mulloughmore, and is only a short drive from Aillwee Cave and The Cliffs Of Moher. The Cusack centre is also only a few minutes walk away.
There is a unique system of farming in this area and guests are welcome to come onto our farm and see how Burren farming has shaped the Burren environment over thousands of years. People have farmed here for more than 5000 years and evidence of this is all around.
There is no direct bus link to Carron.
